The new BlueEFFICIENCY models protect the environment and save up to 12 percent fuel.

Mercedes-Benz has always offered fleet managers a wide selection of models with a wide range of benefits tailor-made to fleet solutions. Mercedes-Benz will be launching a range of familiar models with even better characteristics in 2008. These BlueEFFICIENCY models consume less fuel yet deliver the same power. Tailor-made efficiency packages reduce fuel consumption by up to 1.5 litres per 100 kilometres on these models, helping to undercut future national CO2 emissions standards while also saving money.

Take for instance the C 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, due to be launched in June 2008. Fuel consumption of 5.1 litres per 100 km means it is 0.6 litres more economical than the standard C 200 CDI. Plus CO2 emissions have been reduced by 16 to 133 g/km. The effective BlueEFFICIENCY measures include a new energy management system, enhanced aerodynamics, longer ratios, Powerpack steering and optimised wheels. All of which adds up to fuel savings of 12 percent.

Mercedes-Benz will also be unveiling another BlueEFFICIENCY model in the guise of the C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY. Its CGI engine with spray-guided direct injection produces 215 kW/292 hp and delivers maximum torque of 365 Nm. Despite the extra power the NEDC fuel consumption of the C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY has been reduced to around 8.4 litres per 100 kilometres thanks to state-of-the-art engine technology, making it more than a litre more economical than the current C 350. The C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY is thus set to offer a hitherto unrivalled combination of power delivery, agility, safety, economy and environmental compatibility in this vehicle class.

Yet Mercedes-Benz is not just focusing on CO2 emissions but also takes into account the entire lifecycle of its vehicles as part of its responsible overall environmental balance, or liefecycle assessment starting with the selection of materials and continuing through development, production, use and servicing, and finally recycling. The aim is to reduce all emissions. We call this integrated approach "TrueBlueSolutions". We aim to help you as a fleet manager to operate your fleet in line with your green principles by offering you ultra-economical, environmentally friendly premium vehicles that will allow you to reduce running costs while maintaining the same high standards of quality, safety and driving pleasure.
